I feel like this year absolutely flew by! We had some amazing weddings, events, portraits, and families we got to photograph in 2019. I wanted to share 33 of the best moments captured in 2019 of my favorite Philly wedding photos, NJ shore wedding photos, and everything in-between!
I had the pleasure of getting to know new couples and meeting all their friends and loved ones. One thing that most people don’t talk about in the industry is one huge thing and almost every tv show is based on it; family dynamic. It is so great seeing how brothers, sisters, and parents all interact with each other. Megan and I chatted for weeks waiting for snow, and when it finally hit, man did it hit. We drove to this secret barn located about 1 mile from my studio and passed three accidents due to the blizzard conditions. But, damn, we had fun and ruined Pete’s new dress shoes! Megan needed this coat on her wedding day too, because of blustery winter conditions. After shooting for over an hour in the very warm April day, Jennifer & Jeremy finally made it to their venue. I trailed them as they walked into the vintage iron doors at the Artesano Gallery wedding venue in Manayunk, Philadelphia. They were so relaxed and happy you could feel it. Ashley and Peter were so much fun to hang out with. Peter loves Race Street Pier, so we surprised him after they changed from the first part of their session and met them under the Ben Franklin Bridge. Peter was amped and loved posing with some downward dog in the background. Morris Arboretum engagement session of Brigid and Harrison was on an absolutely gorgeous day! We ended their session with a cool down hanging on these tree nets about 75 feet over the ground — pure relaxation. This was also the wall art canvas we created for them. Liz and Kip’s Moorestown backyard wedding was epic. Liz always wanted fireworks for her wedding, but they had some issues with the township last minute, so I brought two giant sparkler fountains, and they looked incredible sparkling into the pool area. This moment occurred right after the father bride reveal and the look they gave each other, and the gentle touch was so beautiful. You could feel the love and pride streaming from her father’s eyes. Travis and Morgan couldn’t be more awesome. We were capturing their engagement session in Old City, and he stopped to write their initials and wedding date on this dirty glass on the Merchant’s Exchange building. Melissa & Kirk wanted their wedding outside at the 9 Muses at Grounds for Sculpture, but the huge storms rolling through thought otherwise. However, the minute they came together, the skies opened up, and the sun shined in on them for their indoor ceremony. Anything with this couple together is so natural and beautiful! There was a lot of emotion for Shawn when he saw this family member for the first time on the wedding day. This kind of emotion I knew was coming from getting to know the couple deeply and spending time learning about their family history and story together. I had brought a secret sparkler canon for Tia’s sparkler send-off. I did warn her that it gets loud and big. Tia & Brian were both running like explosives just went off. *No sand crabs or dresses were injured in this scene. Amelia loves her dog. Inbetween doing family portraits, we had the dog and Amelia sit and look out at the lake. You can see how much love she has for her furry friend. I had the fantastic pleasure of capturing Felicia & Jarrod’s maternity session and newborn session this year. I always love to incorporate their first child and little furry maniac, Franklin. I captured this family reunion at The Rittenhouse in Philadelphia and helped them plan a proposal in front of their entire family. The excitement and joy on their faces were incredible! Mom was flipping out! I love this photo so much! I photographed Erika and her family for the past few years. Her husband past in a tragic helicopter accident right before her second son was born. We did this session with Erika and also her late husband’s parents and sister’s family. It was emotional and beautiful, and this was the last shot I captured. You can see the helicopter flying overhead in the background as they walked in the sunset in Ocean City, NJ. These two cuties were the main attractions for our backyard Moorestown, NJ wedding we captured. He was rocking his Brooklyn swag with some Dr Martens and shoulder-length curls, and she was super cute as the flower girl. This Rail Park Philadelphia engagement session was not complete until Roma got in some yoga tree poses. Eric was not quite as limber with his tight jeans on! After we did sunset shots from the Windrift Avalon wedding, I told Lauren to be careful as the boat ramp is slippery. So, Matt being the gentlemen he is, just carried her around like a rag doll back to the car. Jamie & Chad’s Franklin Square engagement was about 96 degrees out and humid, but they were still a lot of fun. I love couples that think that it will scare me by saying they don’t photograph well and are nervous in front of the camera. I say, bring it on! Everyone photographs well when you get them to relax and have fun. I had the pleasure of capturing Susan and Norman’s 50th-anniversary vow renewal at Grounds for sculpture. They are the cutest couple and full of life! Because of them, I actually started a new product line of gallery linen fine art print boxes. Down in Lambertville for their engagement session, I asked Nicole to give Patrick a little nipple twister. Let’s just say I think he is down to only his left. Jessica’s father-daughter reveal was so special. They were both emotional and shared so much love. His eyes welled up the moment he saw her. Jessica & Evan had an epic day. Evan is a musician and had to rock out a little with the band, and he definitely gave it his all. Kellie and her girls were down for some fun! I have a new way to do champagne shots, and they were not ready for it, nor was the bridal suite. It shot on the ceiling, walls, floor, and then some. Epicness! This little cutie, who’s the son of a past bride, was the most amazing little model during their family session. His curls and cherub cute face and smile are amazing! Can’t wait to see this little guy get bigger as their family grows. Becca, Kat, and Leo during their family session/ maternity session for Becca. It has been one of my greatest honors to get to know this amazing couple over the past few years. Laura & Josh’s wedding was crazy fun. I knew when I met her and her sister at the Moulin bridal showcase that I loved them, and that they would be so much fun on the wedding day. They did not disappoint. This moment of pure excitement was captured after the ceremony was over, and they passed the curtain of all their guests. Pure jubilation! Christa’s bridesmaids have the best circle of trust and closeness I have seen. I give a little direction when I shoot; my subjects fill in the rest with their hearts. Even the warm sun bathing them on the Princeton canvas gives me the chills I love it so much. Christa and Peter’s Palace at Somerset wedding also had a pretty damn good sparkler exit that ended as they got on his Harley Davidson and did some laps at night. Every time I shoot with Megan and Peter, it is either a blizzard or almost blizzard. It was super cold and very windy on their day. We were walking to one more spot to shoot, so I gave Megan one of the hand warmers that I had in my pockets. Love her reaction with the warmth! These cuties are two of four of my past couple’s kids. The cuteness overload can make your head can explode. Love this spot too that I found on the way to the place we chose already 😉 Kids laughter is so genuine and infectious to your soul! In between regular posed family groups, I want to have fun and show personality during a session. I loaded some black and white film into my camera and just had the kids squeeze and tickle the parents until their German Shepherd was just pissed off enough to want to eat me. Jessica and Dalton’s wedding was right before Christmas, and the venue just finished putting all the outside lights in front of the main building. It was cold and windy, but they were up to create some super romantic photos. I told them to kiss, but don’t kiss and savor that last breath. Every year I have the honor of capturing this one company’s super fun and entertaining holiday party. They rent out an entire venue for the night and completely transform it to whatever theme it is that year. This year it was Bayou southern style, and they had a baptist choir sing and performers/dancers and, wow, so incredible!
Thanks for letting me share my 33 best moments captured in 2019! Can’t wait to see what 2020 brings.
