The Legacy Club at Woodcrest Wedding Guide | Cherry Hill, NJ
The Legacy Club at Woodcrest is the former Woodcrest Country Club in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, a golf club established in 1929. I photographed weddings here when it was still Woodcrest Country Club, in 2018, 2019 and 2021. That means every photograph in this guide shows the club before its renovation.
Lahn Hospitality & Amusement Group acquired the club in December 2021, and the club has since renovated its event spaces. There is a new 2,500 square foot atrium and a renovated ballroom. Anything here about the rooms as they are today comes from the club, in its own words. My photographs show the clubhouse the way it looked when I worked here, plus the course, which is the part you are most likely to recognize when you tour. If you are comparing venues around Cherry Hill, my Mount Laurel wedding photographer page covers more of them.

The spaces: The new Atrium, the Flynn Ballroom (up to 230 guests, the club says), a pergola and a garden, per the club’s wedding page.

Vibe: A country club wedding on a 1929 golf course, with newly renovated event spaces inside.
The photographs: All from 2018, 2019 and 2021, when it was still Woodcrest Country Club, before the renovation.

Why Couples Choose The Legacy Club at Woodcrest
Wait till you see the sunset views over the course at The Legacy Club. The course does a lot of the work here. The club says the grounds cover 178 acres, on a course built in 1929 and designed by William S. Flynn, and every portrait in this guide was taken on the property.
- Portrait spots without leaving: pine-lined cart paths, a little bridge by the woods, a grove of tall pines and big trees across the pond from the clubhouse.
- The club says it only hosts one wedding at a time, and its own FAQ finishes that answer with “Yours!”
- You do not have to be a member. The club hosts weddings for members and non-members.
- You can get married and celebrate in the same place, with indoor and outdoor ceremony options.
- There is a new 2,500 square foot atrium, which the club says highlights the golf course views.
One of the weddings in this guide had a baraat, and the procession came up the pine-lined club drive to the stone pillars at the front entrance.
What I Tell Couples Before a Legacy Club Wedding
I photographed weddings here when it was Woodcrest Country Club. The club has renovated since, so tour it to see the rooms as they are today. This is what I tell couples from my time there.
Portraits on the course
There are lots of spots. My favorite area is near the 18th hole. From the back of the building, make a left. You can walk, or take a golf cart, and the club usually provides carts to get out on the course. Behind the building to the right there are great spots, including a little pond, and across from the front there are wooded areas.
At a 2018 wedding, we took one of the club’s carts out on the course.
The bridal suite had no windows
When I was there, the bridal suite was really nice, but it had zero windows, so there was no natural light. My move: go upstairs and take the getting-ready photographs in front of the main window by the piano. I have done it. Ask about the suite on your tour.
This is the window by the piano, at a wedding in October 2018.
The guys’ locker room
The guys got ready in the club’s locker room suite. The light in there is harsh, so it needs extra lighting. My move: bring the groom out to the bar area, where the soft light is beautiful, and do his prep right there.
Cocktail hour
The cocktail hour space is really nice, with windows all along it looking out on the golf course.
How it compares
It has more unique spaces than most South Jersey country clubs, and the ballroom is nicer and more contemporary than a lot of them. There’s lots of variety. It’s underrated too. The club has been around forever and has changed names a few times, so a lot of couples don’t know it.
The Wedding Spaces at The Legacy Club Today
Since my photographs are all from before the renovation, this section comes straight from the club. Its wedding page lists four spaces: the atrium, the renovated ballroom, a pergola and a garden.
The Atrium
This is the new room. The club describes it as 2,500 square feet and light-filled, and says it highlights the golf course views. It hosts ceremonies, and the club lists it for receptions too, with a spacious dance floor. Get its guest count from the club directly, because its two websites list different numbers.
The Flynn Ballroom
The club says the Flynn Ballroom accommodates up to 230 guests with a spacious dance floor. The ballroom you will see in my photographs further down is from before the renovation.
The pergola, the garden and the patio
The club lists a pergola and a garden among its wedding spaces, and its events website names the patio for outdoor ceremonies. None of my photographs show any of them as they are today. Put all three on your tour.
Getting Ready at The Legacy Club at Woodcrest
At the weddings in this guide, getting ready happened right in the clubhouse. These rooms are from 2018, 2019 and 2021, and it is worth asking the club what it uses for getting ready now.
The room with the arched window and the grand piano
I photographed bridal portraits in this room, in the light from a tall arched window next to a grand piano.
The windows over the course
At a 2018 wedding, the bride got into her dress by the clubhouse windows, with the piano right beside her.
Bar 1929
Bar 1929 was where I photographed the groom’s side, with its exposed brick and its name right on the sign.
Ceremony Options at The Legacy Club at Woodcrest
The club says it hosts indoor and outdoor ceremonies today, in its light-filled Atrium or on the patio. It calls the Atrium a weatherproof ceremony space. If you plan on the patio, ask how the move inside works.
The patio tent, before the renovation
The ceremonies in this guide were under a tent on the patio beside the clubhouse, open on the sides, with the course right behind it. One was set with rows of white chairs and iron orb chandeliers.
Another had a draped mandap with red and pink roses for an Indian wedding ceremony.
Cocktail Hour and Reception at The Legacy Club
For receptions today, the club lists the Flynn Ballroom and the Atrium. Its weddings feature plated meals, with buffet and cocktail-style reception menus available upon request, and there is an executive chef of banquets and catering on the club’s staff. Ask where cocktail hour will be when you tour.
The clubhouse bar room
Before the ceremony at one wedding, I photographed this bar room in the clubhouse, with its long wood bar, wine racks and vaulted wood-beam ceiling.
Out back, the clubhouse had a covered patio with string lights strung over it.
The ballroom, before the renovation
The receptions in this guide were in the club’s ballroom, with round tables on a dark wood floor.
And the first dance on the wood floor, with everyone watching from their tables.
Best Spots for Photographs at The Legacy Club at Woodcrest
This is the part of the guide I would trust the most, because it is all outside. The club says it modified the course in 2022, changing bunkers and hole layouts, so a view or two may be different now. The big trees across the pond from the clubhouse, at the top of this guide, are out here too.
The pine-lined cart paths
Tall pines along a paved cart path. Walk it together and it feels like you have the whole course to yourselves.
The cart path bridge by the woods
A little bridge with low concrete walls and the woods right behind it. We photographed it at the end of November, with the trees bare and the whole frame warm and brown.
The pine grove
A gravel path runs through a grove of tall pines beside the fairway, and there is room in there for the whole wedding party.
The open lawns by the pond
Wide open lawns with a pond behind, and room for the whole wedding party.
The tree-lined drive
A long paved drive under big old trees. Stand in the middle and the trees frame you from both sides.
Planning Tips for a Legacy Club at Woodcrest Wedding
- Tour before you decide. The club invites couples in to see its renovated event spaces, and they will look different from older photographs, mine included.
- Ask where you will get ready and where cocktail hour will be, and walk both rooms while you are there.
- If you want the patio, ask how the club moves a ceremony into the Atrium if the weather turns.
- Confirm your guest count room by room. The club’s two websites give different numbers for the Atrium.
- Leave time for the course. The pines, the cart paths and the big trees by the pond are where the couple portraits in this guide come from.
- Use the club drive. When I photographed here, a baraat came up the pine-lined drive to the front entrance, and a first look happened by a big tree along it.
- If your guests still call it Woodcrest Country Club, they have the right place. The address is 300 E Evesham Rd in Cherry Hill.

My Approach to Photographing The Legacy Club at Woodcrest Weddings
I have been photographing weddings since 2005. That is 21+ years and 500+ weddings, and I take at most fifteen weddings a year on purpose, so every couple gets my full attention. I never shoot a wedding alone. There is always at least one other professional photographer with me, and cinematographers when couples want video too.
At a golf club that matters. The day here moves between the clubhouse and the course, so one of us can stay with your guests while the other is out on the cart paths with you.
If The Legacy Club at Woodcrest is on your list, I would love to hear about your day.
