Trump National Golf Club Philadelphia Wedding Guide | Pine Hill, NJ
At a Trump National Golf Club wedding, the view does a lot of the work. The club is in Pine Hill, New Jersey, with its clubhouse at the top of a hill, and the ceremonies overlook South Jersey and the Philadelphia skyline. I have been photographing weddings at Trump National for more than ten years.
This guide covers the practical stuff: where the ceremony happens, the Grand Ballroom, getting ready, the spots I go to for portraits, and the one thing you should definitely plan for here, a sunset photograph up on the 18th hole. If you are still comparing venues, my New Jersey wedding photographer page walks through the other New Jersey venues I have photographed.

Where: 500 West Branch Avenue, Pine Hill, New Jersey 08021. Follow the entrance road to the top of the hill, and the clubhouse is on the right.
The spaces: The Grand Ballroom inside the 43,000 square foot clubhouse, and the Outdoor Terrace for ceremonies. The club’s wedding page says the Grand Ballroom holds up to 250 guests.
Ceremony: The club’s Outdoor Terrace, with views of the Philadelphia skyline, weather permitting. I have also photographed a ceremony indoors here.
Getting ready: On site. I have photographed a bride getting ready in a bridal suite here.
Portraits: The giant clock behind the clubhouse, the lion fountain, the ivy wall along the drive, the greens and bunkers, and the course at sunset. All of it is on the grounds.
Vibe: A private golf club on a hill. Crystal chandeliers inside, miles of treetops and the skyline outside.
This is the view from the top of the hill, looking back down the entrance drive. See the little cluster of towers on the left side of the horizon? That is the Philadelphia skyline.
Why Couples Choose Trump National
The short answer is the view. The club says the clubhouse was built on the site of a former ski resort, and from the top of that hill you look out over miles of treetops toward Philadelphia. Wait till you look into the sunset and see the Philly skyline. You’re going to freak out.
- You can see the Philadelphia skyline in the background of photographs here, and the club’s outdoor ceremony site looks out at it.
- The club hosts one event at a time, so you are not sharing the clubhouse with another wedding.
- You do not have to be a member. The club has membership sponsored programs that let you hold your event there without one.
- The ceremony, the reception and your portraits can all happen on the property. Your guests never have to leave the club.
- There are always so many amazing areas to photograph on the grounds, from the greens on the course to the ivy wall along the drive.
- A giant black and gold clock with four faces stands behind the clubhouse, and it looks great rain or shine.
What I Tell Couples Before a Trump National Wedding
I have been photographing weddings here for more than ten years, and it’s still one of the most unique places to get married in the area. Here is what I tell my couples.
When the skyline shows up best
You can see the Philadelphia skyline from the 18th hole, the ceremony space and the back area by the big clock tower. It’s clearest late in the day with the sun behind it, or on a really clear, sunny day. You’re above the whole tree line, all the way to Philly. It’s a wild view.
Sunset only takes ten minutes
You only need five to ten minutes away from the reception for sunset photographs. Anywhere out back works, because it’s wide open. In the fall, with the trees turning, it’s even better.
More Spots on the Grounds
The path from the building down to the 18th hole is awesome. Facing the front of the building, off to the left, there’s a grassy opening ringed by big bushy trees. Later in the day it’s great for family formals, the wedding party and the two of you. And the winding drive up the hill has a lot of great spots. The club provides a golf cart to get you there, and most couples never explore it.
Getting ready
The guys usually get the boardroom, with a giant table and a big TV, and the bride’s side gets a separate suite. The rooms are nice and full of light, but they’re small. If you have more than five people per side, get ready off site.
It’s a private club
Your wedding is kept separate from the club, so guests can’t use the members’ bar. Let your guests know ahead of time so nobody goes looking for it.
Save Some Night for the Front
At night the front of the building is all lit up, with the fountain going. It’s a great spot for night photographs and a sparkler exit.
Getting Ready at Trump National Golf Club
The bridal suite I have photographed here has a gold swag valance and a framed rose painting on the wall. This is the moment the bride turned around for her bridesmaids.
Ceremony Options at Trump National, on the Terrace and Indoors
The Outdoor Terrace
The Outdoor Terrace is the club’s outdoor ceremony site, and it looks out over South Jersey toward the Philadelphia skyline.
It is a stone paver terrace edged by a clipped hedge, with a wide view out over the treetops.
At one wedding here, the bride walked across the terrace toward the stone pillars under the clubhouse wing, with the lawn and the view straight ahead.
Your guests sit on the lawn facing you, and behind you the treetops run all the way to the horizon.
The club’s wedding page lists the outdoor site as weather permitting. Work out the indoor plan with the club when you book the terrace.
An indoor ceremony
I have also photographed a ceremony indoors here, in a room with gold swag valances, tall windows and a crystal chandelier.
Cocktail Hour and the Grand Ballroom at Trump National
Cocktail hour at one of my weddings here was out on the patio, with its umbrellas and iron railing. Keep an eye on the clock toward the end of it, because that is when you slip away for the sunset session.
The Grand Ballroom
The Grand Ballroom is inside the clubhouse, and the club’s wedding page says it holds up to 250 guests.
In the daytime the tall windows fill the room with light, with three crystal chandeliers over the tables.
At night, with candles on the tables, the chandeliers and gold swag valances warm the whole room up.
The dance floor sits right under a crystal chandelier, close to your guests at their tables.
Best Spots for Photographs at Trump National
The giant clock behind the clubhouse
The giant clock is one of my favorite spots here. At dusk the sky goes pink behind it, with the treetops spread out below.
The lion fountain
A tiered stone fountain ringed with lion statues sits by a covered entrance. On a wet day you can stay under cover and still have the fountain behind you.
The ivy wall along the drive
A tall wall covered in green ivy runs along the club drive. It is simple, which is the point. Nothing behind you competes with the two of you.
The greens and bunkers
It is a golf club, so use the course. A green and a sand bunker with tall pines behind them make a clean, pretty frame.
Sunset on the course
Towards the end of cocktail hour, plan a short session at sunset. You should definitely plan for a sunset photograph up on the 18th hole, overlooking the skyline.
Once the sun drops to the treeline, a hill on the course puts the two of you in silhouette against the sky.
Outside the clubhouse at night
End the night outside the clubhouse. A sparkler send-off next to the lamp post lights up the whole wedding party.
Fall Weddings at Trump National
Fall up on the 18th hole is something else. I haven’t seen anything like that from any venue.
Fall can bring gray, wet days too, and they still work here. On a rainy fall wedding day, the covered entrance by the lion fountain and the terrace by the giant clock both gave us beautiful photographs.
Planning Tips for a Trump National Wedding
- Plan a short sunset session toward the end of cocktail hour, up on the 18th hole overlooking the skyline.
- Look up the sunset time for your date first, then build the rest of the timeline around it. It moves a lot between spring and fall.
- Settle the indoor plan when you book the terrace. The club lists the outdoor ceremony site as weather permitting.
- You do not have to be a member. Ask the club about its membership sponsored programs.
- Put the club’s directions on your wedding website: follow the entrance road to the top of the hill, and the clubhouse is on the right.
- If you want a sparkler send-off at the end of the night, ask the club about it early.
- Bring umbrellas. The terrace is still beautiful wet, and the pavement by the giant clock turns into a mirror.

My Approach to Photographing Trump National Weddings
I have been photographing weddings since 2005. That is 21+ years and 500+ weddings. I cap it at fifteen weddings a year on purpose, so the weddings I do take get all of my attention. I never shoot one alone. There is always at least one other professional photographer with me, and cinematographers when couples want video too.
At this club the second photographer earns their spot at sunset. When you slip away from cocktail hour for the sunset session, one of us can go up on the course with you while the other stays with your guests.
If Trump National is on your list, I would love to hear about your day.
