Danielle and Chris’s FAME Philadelphia wedding at MaKen Studios with Feast Your Eyes Catering was a long time coming. I met Danielle (D) and Chris before COVID and shot their engagement session, then their small church ceremony during the pandemic, and finally this big vow renewal and party in Philly. It was a wild ride and they were a fantastic couple to go on it with. Old City bridal preps at the Sheraton Society Hill, portraits all over Philly, the FAME ceremony, and a reception under warm market lights with EBE keeping the dance floor packed all night.

Bridal Preps at Sheraton Society Hill in Old City Philadelphia
Danielle & Chris both got ready at the Sheraton Society Hill in Old City, Philadelphia. One great perk of shooting the rehearsal dinner or prior church ceremony to the wedding day is that I already know all the family. Showing up at the hotel in the morning seeing all the familiar faces is incredible and makes the couple even more relaxed. In addition, the Sheraton at Society Hill is a unique spot as it is within walking distance of some of the best photographic locations in Old City: Merchant Exchange, First National Bank, and the list goes on!

Bridal Party and Couple Photos in Old City Philadelphia
A sudden giant windstorm put a wrench in our plans for their outdoor first look on the wedding day. Leaves were flying in swirls as if a monsoon was coming. But After we captured their first look in a private area at the Sheraton and had some pizza ( yes, some of the bridal party randomly had slices of pizza and gave Danielle a slice)

FAME Philadelphia Wedding Ceremony at MaKen Studios
Imagine your father locked arm to arm, walking down the aisle together. You can see your future husband glaring with pride and happiness as you walk toward him. You squint slightly because the sun is setting behind the cityscape of Philadelphia. The room surrounded by windows bathes your closest loved ones with beautiful orange sunset light. They feel the sun’s warmth gently disappear as you start your vows. The surrounding view behind you starts to cool off with beautiful hues of blues, pinks, and purples in the sky, with a hit of red at the very bottom. You can see the outer silhouette of the city of Philadelphia behind you as you have your first kiss as a married couple. Your arms go up and then speed down the aisle together as you hear all the clapping and music start and get greeted by a scintillatingly delicious custom cocktail to start the party.
And that is what it is like having your ceremony at this fantastic location called FAME!

FAME Philadelphia Wedding Reception with Feast Your Eyes Catering
There are no words for how much I love working with Feast Your Eyes Catering. The cocktail hour is not your average selection. The food is much more sophisticated. One of their hors d’oeuvres had a special place in my heart. Chicken, sweet potato, and a pickle on a skewer with a slight drizzle of some aioli sauce were incredible!
The entire reception room is also impressive, bathed in warm market lights covering the ceiling and the open floor plan of the room is beautiful. EBE rocked out the reception, and they went hard. The best part was the champagne send-off on the balcony, and Danielle did not release her bottle was a screw top. Instead, she shot the champagne right in her face, and she was a trooper to keep going!
I love being around Danielle and Chris. They are always so fun and a delight to photograph. They have an incredible suede leather album and wall art from their big day. I wish them the absolute best. Why FAME at MaKen Studios Works for a Philadelphia Wedding
FAME at MaKen Studios is a really cool Philly wedding venue because it does not feel like a hotel ballroom or a typical event space. It is a converted industrial building in Kensington with exposed brick, big windows, market lights strung across the ceiling, and an open floor plan that lets you set up cocktail hour, ceremony, and reception however you want. Pair it with Feast Your Eyes Catering, which honestly does some of the best wedding food in the city, and you have a Philly wedding that feels personal and a little bit different. If you want a venue with character that does not look like every other reception, this is the move.
