MeiMei and Jonathan’s Terrain Devon wedding at Terrain Gardens in Devon, PA was a gorgeous fall day from start to finish. Bridal preps at The Sonder hotel in Center City Philly, a teary first look at First National Bank, bridal party portraits near the Rose Gardens, and then out to Devon for a wisteria-covered ceremony, a string-lit cocktail hour, and a packed reception with a bonfire and s’mores. Bridal Preps at The Sonder Hotel in Philadelphia

We loved capturing MeiMei & Jonathan’s Terrain Devon wedding! When we first arrived, Jonathan’s hotel room was filled with jokes from the groomsmen and music. MeiMei’s room was quite similar, with her bridesmaids dancing around the room in excitement. Both rooms overlooked the Philadelphia city streets. While we shot details, MeiMei copied over her vows from her phone to her custom vow book.

First Look at First National Bank Philadelphia

Jonathan showed up first at The First National Bank. While he patiently waited, MeiMei was on the other side of the building, telling us how nervous she was and how she would cry when she saw him. The photographer asked Jonathan what artist he would like to listen to when MeiMei walks up. He requested Sam Smith’s “Stay with Me.” There were instant tears from both of them.

Bridal Party Photos in Center City Philadelphia

You could genuinely see the couple’s love for each other. The bridal party was filled with energy and rooted MeiMei and Jonathan throughout the shoot near the Rose Gardens.

Terrain Gardens Devon PA Wedding Ceremony

Terrain Gardens at Devon Yard is a brand-new, built-in 2019. The Gardens give off a rustic yet modern appearance. Despite Terrain, The Ceremony Garden is surrounded by wisteria trees, giving MeiMei and Jonathan a private and intimate ceremony. The ceremony space was quiet, peaceful, and filled with the sun. MeiMei and Jonathan exchanged emotional vows and personal moments with their parents. It was a perfect ceremony with perfect weather.

Terrain Gardens Devon PA Wedding Cocktail Hour

String lights dangling from a terrace with a satisfying arrangement of foods made up the cocktail hour at Terrain. There was everything from clams, crabs, roasted vegetables, an assortment of dips, and herb-roasted lamb chop carves.

Terrain Devon Wedding Reception

The reception area offered a sizable dance floor with giant, gorgeous barn doors as a backdrop. String lights and plants hang from the ceiling with wood and blush tones creating an intimate and comfortable space to eat and dance. MeiMei and Jonathan showed up to the reception with choreographed first dance and completely blew it out of the park! After dinner and toasts, guests were invited to participate in dance lessons. Every guest in the building experienced it, making it more fun when the DJ started the music!

If guests needed a break from dancing, they could check out the delicious dessert bar (featuring cinnamon sugar churros and chocolate chip cookies with black lava sea salt) in the outside area. There was also a bonfire with complimentary blankets, s’mores kits, and a polaroid station for guests to capture the night.

This wedding was super fun to capture, and the couple was super awesome to work with!

Why Terrain Gardens at Devon Yard Is a Beautiful Wedding Venue

Terrain Gardens at Devon Yard opened in 2019 and it is one of the prettiest outdoor wedding venues in the Philly suburbs. The ceremony space is tucked under a wisteria-covered pergola, the cocktail hour terrace gets strung with cafe lights, and the reception barn has these enormous wood doors that make a gorgeous backdrop behind the dance floor. It is rustic without being cheesy, modern without feeling cold, and the food and floral game is on another level because Terrain runs the whole thing themselves. If you want a Pennsylvania wedding venue with a built-in garden vibe and zero ballroom energy, this is it.
