I would like to share a little story and some kind words from this past Saturday’s wedding at McLoone’s Pier House in Long Branch, NJ. We had a great day and it was really fun with their DJ whom they know from summers down the shore. They rocked 80’s and 90’s music all night. At the end of the night, I went to hug Jessica goodbye and thank her for such an amazing day with her. After I hugged her I looked at her and she was crying. I asked her if she was okay and she told me that she was just really happy and that everyone treated her so nice on her day. I thought that was just incredibly sweet of her and I had never seen a happy cry at the end of the night. Less than 24 hours after her wedding I received this email from her:
“Hi Jordan! Thank you for everything yesterday. The day was perfect and you had a lot to do with that!
Where do we start? You and your team are incredibly professional and talented. You were so great to work with – everything was organized and on time and we didn’t have to worry about anything once you arrived. You have such a great sense of humor and this made the bridal party & family photos a lot of fun. Everyone I talked to had such great things to say about you and your team. My response every time was “told ya he was awesome” – you lived up to the hype. The best thing was the way you just mixed in with our friends/family at the reception!
Photobombs were great, especially the ‘ladies with scarves’ and the creepy guy who continuously told us he was from Sicily!
Thanks again and talk to you when we get back. Can’t wait to see the pics”- Jess & Mike
About McLoone’s Pier House
McLoone’s Pier House sits right on the sand at Pier Village in Long Branch, about as close to the Atlantic as a New Jersey wedding venue can get. The second floor ballroom runs a wall of windows along the ocean, so your guests watch the waves all night and your portraits are a thirty second walk from the beach. Jessica and Mike proved the place works in winter too. The off season light is softer, the beach is empty, and the room feels even cozier with the cold ocean rolling past the glass. If you want the Shore without a banquet hall feel, this is the spot.
Here is a little sneak peek from her wedding day. Can’t wait to get the film back from her day!

Loving the bathtub at the Bungalows in Long Branch, NJ.

Loved the clouds in this infrared photography…

Photobombed!

This guest almost tore his mustache doing this split!
We snuck downstairs and had a dance with the band at the restaurant.

They were dredging all night in front of the venue. It was awesome to watch and just added a little something to their wedding day!
Planning a Jersey Shore Wedding?
Notes like Jessica’s are why I shoot. The photographs matter, but the way you feel on your wedding day matters more, and the two are connected. If you are dreaming about an oceanfront celebration of your own, my guide to the best Jersey Shore wedding venues covers McLoone’s and the other rooms I photograph along the coast, with honest notes on light, logistics, and where the best portraits hide.
