Vicki and Joe had a phenomenally beautiful Castle at Skylands Manor Wedding. Down to each detail, it was perfectly planned and visually stunning. Vicki was super hands-on in the making of the details, and even took an old book, cut a heart out of the middle of all of the pages, and bound & wrapped it for the rings to go into. Such a cool idea! Vicki’s stepfather had two beautiful 1927 and 1928 Pierce Arrow cars that we are pretty jealous of, that matched her wedding colors and were sitting out front of the castle. It was a lot of fun to create with Vicki and Joe using everything that was significant to them.
Vicki and Joe had their ceremony outdoors of their Castle at Skylands Manor wedding. The light that time of day couldn’t have been more perfect, and the trees lining the grounds made for a gorgeous natural aisle for Vicki to walk down. Their reception was a blast! One of Vicki’s close friends has a ten-year-old daughter who actually got up in front of the Uptown Swing Band to sing “Beautiful” by Christina Aguilera. It was an awesome surprise, and her rendition was wonderful. The rest of their reception was so much fun, and we even got to sneak away to create a few nighttime photographs with the newlyweds! We look forward to seeing them again, and wish them nothing but the best.

The Castle at Skylands Manor sits inside the New Jersey Botanical Garden in Ringwood, Passaic County. The estate was built in the 1920s by financier Clarence Lewis and later given to the state of New Jersey. The Tudor revival stone manor rises from 96 acres of formal gardens, terraced lawns, and old-growth woodland. In summer the grounds are at their most dramatic, with a tree-lined carriage road providing a natural ceremony aisle that almost any florist would be reluctant to try to compete with. It is one of the genuinely underrated wedding estates in northern New Jersey.
Vicki’s father passed away prior to the wedding so this is portrait of him on her flowers.
One of Vicki’s gifts to Joe was this booklet that she made. She included a photo of this rad vehicle that she got for him! (To his demise, not his dream car, but close enough!)
