South Jersey’s back roads hide a few spots that have nothing to do with a ballroom or barn. This session took place at a private airfield where a fleet of vintage prop planes was staging for a local airshow. The hangar offered something rare: raw industrial texture with a touch of Americana nostalgia. Film was the right call. The light bouncing off polished aluminum, the scale of the aircraft against two people, it all reads differently on film than on a digital sensor. If you want an engagement session that goes somewhere unexpected, a working airfield in South Jersey is hard to beat.

Gina and Steve were planning their September wedding at one of South Jersey’s favorite waterfront venues, Windows on the Water at Frogbridge. Sessions like this one are part of why I look forward to wedding day, having time before the ceremony to photograph a couple who already feel comfortable and at ease. The film work here was processed and scanned through a professional lab, and the infrared frame toward the end of the gallery is one of my favorites from any engagement session.
