Jeanette and Sean’s Valley Green Inn wedding was one of those fall days where everything just clicked. Peak foliage along the Wissahickon, a couple who knew how to have the best time, and one of the most beautiful outdoor venues in Philadelphia, this one was absolutely one for the books.
Valley Green Inn sits at the heart of Wissahickon Valley Park, one of the largest urban green spaces in the country. The inn itself dates to 1850, when it served travelers along the Wissahickon Turnpike, and today it’s the only restaurant in Philadelphia you can only reach on foot, by bike, or on horseback. No cars allowed on the creek road, which means weddings here feel genuinely removed from the city, even though you’re technically still inside Philadelphia city limits.

Jeanette and Sean started their wedding day at the chic Chestnut Hill Hotel, a stylish gem perfect for couples looking for modern elegance. Jeanette prepped in her rustic, wood-inspired suite, while Sean enjoyed getting ready in a sleek, contemporary room with his best buds, proving you can have style and comfort all in one place!
First Look at the Chestnut Hill Hotel
Their emotional first look unfolded in front of whimsical, oversized blue dog sculptures at the hotel. Yes, dog sculptures! Surrounded by lush greenery and vibrant flowers, Jeanette and Sean shared a sweet moment filled with joyful tears. This unique setting made for truly incredible photos, capturing their playful spirits perfectly.
Fall Portraits at Valley Green Inn Along Wissahickon Creek
Arriving at Valley Green Inn, we were greeted by incredible fall scenery, golden leaves blanketed the ground, and the vibrant autumn colors created an amazing backdrop. Jeanette, being the adventurous bride she is, happily trekked down to the riverbank for some gorgeous riverside shots. The charming bridge in the background perfectly framed these romantic moments, highlighting their genuine connection.

Their ceremony at Valley Green Inn was picture-perfect. With one of their friends officiating, Jeanette and Sean exchanged vows against a peaceful backdrop of trees and the gently flowing Wissahickon River. Quick, heartfelt, and full of laughter, their ceremony wrapped up beautifully, launching them joyfully into married life with huge smiles and cheers.
Cocktail Hour by the Wissahickon at Valley Green Inn
Guests mingled, enjoyed outdoor games, and soaked in the natural beauty of Valley Green Inn’s riverside location during cocktail hour. Special touches like a life-sized chess set kept guests entertained, while we captured gorgeous drone photography to showcase the incredible setting.
Outdoor Wedding Reception at Valley Green Inn
Jeanette and Sean’s reception unfolded on the charming back porch of Valley Green Inn, surrounded by nature. Despite the warm weather, the atmosphere was perfect for dancing under the stars. Emotions ran high during touching speeches, and the Bachelor Boys kept the dance floor packed all night, and Sean even danced so hard, he had to throw his tux jacket back on for night photos to hide his sweat-soaked shirt!
Nighttime Portraits & S’mores at Valley Green Inn Wedding
We wrapped up the evening with romantic nighttime portraits down by the darkened riverside, creating dramatic silhouettes against the warmly lit inn. Ending on a sweet note, Jeanette and Sean toasted marshmallows for s’mores, capturing the perfect cozy and playful conclusion to their memorable wedding day.
