Kelly my studio manager told me several times that Yvonne may be one of the nicest people she has ever worked with. Yvonne was our first Dutch bride we have ever photographed. They had an absolutely beautiful day for their wedding at The Valenzano Winery in Shamong, NJ. I always love working there as the backdrop and location are so breathtaking.
Wine Country in the Pine Barrens
The winery sits on the western edge of the Pine Barrens, where sandy, acidic soil and warm coastal plain summers turn out grapes that surprise people who think New Jersey cannot grow wine. The region earned its own federal designation, the Outer Coastal Plain AVA, in 2007, and Valenzano’s vineyards in Shamong are right in the heart of it. Late summer is harvest season here, so an August or September wedding happens with fruit literally hanging on the vines behind the ceremony. Pair that with pine woods on the horizon and rows of trellised vines in every direction, and the portrait backdrops feel a lot more like wine country than the Garden State stereotype.
Yvonne & Bryan had an outdoor ceremony for their Valenzano Winery wedding. I love outdoor ceremonies! The way the light glows behind the bride, the smell of fresh-cut grass and flower petals everywhere make outdoor ceremonies stunning. The flower girl had about a 103 temperature and still was super cute and was very well behaved all day. They had their cocktail hour outdoors with all the friends and family after the ceremony outside at The Valenzano Winery. We had a great day with them and their white silk and green leather album are beautiful!
