Rebecca and Nick’s Philadelphia Hyatt at the Bellevue Wedding was stunning. They were lucky too as this wedding was the week before the pope visited Philadelphia. Bill Murray was also in the building at another wedding that was being held there. The staff was trying to keep him on one floor as he tends to like to wander around.
We started off with the groom at the amazing bar on the 19th floor overlooking the city. Nick loved his black and white film portraits during their GTKY session at Rittenhouse so I was sure to bring a few extra rolls to photograph him with. The guys were great and went to see how the girls were making out in their bridal suite.
I love capturing the first look between the bride and groom on the back second-floor staircase for The Hyatt at the Bellevue weddings. For one it is quite private as there are not many people using the staircase at hotels anymore. Also, it is so grand, classy with ornate metal and wood panels. There are always different angles to photograph this too which I love artistically.
The bridal party was awesome! They were cool, fun and lighthearted. They borrowed a pope cutout from the dress store in the Hyatt at the Bellevue shop area. We had them peeking the pope cutout around the side of buildings on Broad Street and capturing people’s reactions. I also had them bring it to City Hall where we photographed everyone in the bridal party and Bride/Groom.
Overall a flawless day for an amazing couple. I had a great time with them and wish them the best in their new home in Miami Florida!
Photographed mostly with Contax 645 and Kodak Portra 400, Fujifilm Acros 100 and Ilford 3200. Scans by Richard Photo Lab.

Hyatt at the Bellevue Wedding Ceremony
The beautiful ceremony was held at the Hyatt at the Bellevue and one of the groomsmen was the officiant. Followed by a few brief family formals before Lovesick DJ brought in the entertainment. During the party we snuck outside for a few photographs at night in front of City Hall.
