We photographed Beth & Nic’s Cape May Engagement Session down by the Cape May Lighthouse. Beth, Nic and I have a long history together! Beth was a bridesmaid in a wedding I photographed several years ago. She then hired me to capture her elopement with Nic at City Hall in Philadelphia. They saw that I was doing sessions down in Cape May at the end of summer and contacted me right away. Not only do I love working with them, but they both have some serious style (swag)! The flowy grey dress and his dark blue denim jeans with the gray top looked incredible together. They worked it down at the lighthouse for their Cape May engagement session. The weather was stunning for them, not to mention an insane sunset! I created a beautiful suede-covered album for them from the session and two custom canvas wall art pieces for them. We will be planning another shoot next year hopefully with another cool concept and style…
About the Cape May Lighthouse
The Cape May Lighthouse has stood at Cape May Point since 1859, and it is still a working aid to navigation. The tower rises about 157 feet over the southern tip of New Jersey, and visitors who climb the 199 steps to the top get a view of the exact spot where the Delaware Bay meets the Atlantic. That meeting of two bodies of water is also why the light down here behaves differently than anywhere else on the shore. The state park around the lighthouse has dunes, a beach, and a long concrete wall that all show up in this session.

The sunset at Cape May is stunning! The colors you get are unlike anywhere else. I believe it has something to do with the water surrounding Cape May on both sides. Beth and Nic were cool to jump in at the end of their session which I always recommend for those adventurous couples. It is fun and also a bizarre feeling to be fully clothed. You feel as if you had an accident because you typically are only fully clothed in water if you fall. Oh and don’t forget a towel!
