Jennifer & Michael’s Rutgers engagement session brought back some memories of my old stomping ground. I loved going to Johnson Park which is where the free library is at Rutgers University in Camden. It rained heavy the day before their session. We had some incredible puddles to capture some beautiful reflections of the couple having fun around the waterfront area. After having some fun in front of Campbell’s stadium we finished up their session at the riverfront overlooking Philadelphia and the Ben Franklin Bridge in the background. The Camden Waterfront offers one of the most underrated backdrops for engagement sessions in the Philadelphia region. The stretch along the Delaware River, anchored by Campbell’s Field and the Rutgers University Camden campus, gives couples waterfront reflections, historic brick architecture, and an unobstructed view of the Philadelphia skyline framed by the Ben Franklin Bridge. Because it sits across the river from Center City, sunset here means the light hits the skyline and bridge simultaneously, making for a completely different kind of Philadelphia-area engagement photograph.

The Camden side of the Ben Franklin Bridge is the best place to go for sunset photographs! The sun will set in the background and it is typically empty. Just make sure there are no summer concerts or baseball games going on as it will be tough to find parking.
