Lindsay & Chris had an amazing Sea Isle City Engagement session. It’s a location they often go to in the summer. They first met and had their first date at one of the bar restaurants down there. We shot on the boardwalk and had some fun by the amphitheater before we went onto the beach. We drove down towards the Townsends Inlet Bridge for some portraits on the beach.
Sea Isle City sits on a barrier island in Cape May County, about 90 minutes south of Philadelphia down the Garden State Parkway. It’s one of the older Jersey Shore towns, incorporated in 1882, and carries that particular mix of weathered boardwalk charm and serious summer energy that the newer coastal developments can’t replicate. The Promenade runs the length of the island and the Music Pier is the center of it all, from concerts to wedding ceremonies when couples want something completely different. For engagement sessions, the combination of the bay side for soft light and the ocean side for open sky gives you two completely different looks inside the same two-hour window.

Sea Isle City Engagement session at Townsends Bridge Inlet
The sky was gorgeous on the day and the weather was actually perfect. I love tide pools that form when the tide drops from an extra deep high tide. The reflections from tide pools are incredible but also running and playing through them add to the fun of the sessions.
Speaking of fun, Lindsay & Chris had a little fun with some champagne toasts which quickly led to them spraying each other with champagne. Please do not buy expensive champagne when doing this type of shoot. The bubbly will only last for about 15-20 seconds and it’s all over the ground, your clothes and your hair. Cheap stuff will do! If you do want something fancy we can do photographs of that and then just pop open the cheap stuff.
We finished their session by jumping into the ocean. The water was quite warm for them so they were all about going in. I love ending a Getting to Know You session with something fun and little crazy. And Lindsay & Chris are definitely fun and have a little crazy in them.

Lindsay and Chris are both nurses at Cooper Hospital in New Jersey. They wanted to show a little bit of their personality with it too. Couples that work together also can play together!

You can’t see this but I was in the water up to my waste capturing this moment. No photographers were harmed during the making of this session…
