Brielle & Nick has an amazing McLoone’s Pier House Engagement session! They have one of the most incredible yellow labs ever! I am very biased since I have a yellow labrador retriever as well. We decided to photograph their GTKY session at the beach in Long Branch New Jersey. The area there is so beautiful, clean and quaint. The boardwalk and shops are some of the nicest on any shore point in NJ.
We went everywhere with Brielle & Nick; the boardwalk, under the boardwalk, on the beach, on a jetty, and in the grass park area. The weather was beautiful and we finished their session with a champagne bath in front of the Rescue station on the beach. They have an amazing Wall Art piece, custom album, and awesome fine art Bamboo Save the Date cards that we made for them. I can’t wait to see them again for their wedding at The Park Savoy in Florham Park, NJ.
Long Branch is one of the oldest resort towns on the Jersey Shore, and McLoone’s Pier House sits right at the water’s edge overlooking the Atlantic. The boardwalk here is a mix of wide wooden planks, grass parks, and stone jetties, giving a session a completely different feel from the typical beach town setup. The Pier House restaurant itself is a landmark, but the real draw for engagement photographs is the stretch of beach and infrastructure right around it: the lifeguard stands, the boardwalk underpasses, and the open horizon at golden hour.

Having fun at GTKY sessions
At the end of GTKY/Engagement session I love to have a little fun. Sometimes you run in the ocean, throw paint, powder, champagne, etc at each other. It seems crazy but I feel it is not only fun but almost couples therapy in a way. Any animosity or ill feelings you had towards each other melt away and you will definitely be closer. We used these photographs from the end of their session on their custom Save the Date cards that were printed on fine art watercolor stock. They were stunning! Planning a Shore wedding?
