Shooting a GTKY session in Hopetown means working around the island on its own terms. It rained all day until about 35 minutes before dusk. We grabbed the gear, wrapped the remotes in zip lock bags to protect against the drizzle, ran across to the boat dock on the far side of the island, and made the most of every minute of light that opened up. There are no cars here. You move by golf cart or boat, and the boat dock offers a sightline across the harbor that you cannot get from anywhere else on the island. When the sky cleared it was exactly the kind of light you wait all day for.

Hope Town Bahamas engagement session on a boat

The best man working out the day before the wedding…

DJ Tim was assisting me with my remote gear wrapped in ziplock bags because of the rain.

Tim, who goes by DJ Naptime, helped assist the session and kept everything running smoothly in the rain chaos. We finished in the pool at their rented house as the light faded out, which ended up being one of the quieter and more intimate parts of the whole trip. The wedding itself took place the next morning. If you want to see that day, their Hopetown wedding post has the full gallery.
