2016! Just wow! One of my busiest years ever with weddings and events. All my couples honored me with an invite into their private lives to capture their special moments together. Here are a few of my favorites from the year…
2016: One of My Busiest Years
2016 was a blur in the best way. Wedding after wedding, event after event, and a long list of couples who trusted me to be in the room for the biggest day of their lives. When I sat down to pull my favorites, the photographs that rose to the top were never about the fanciest detail. They were about feeling. The laugh that catches someone off guard, the parent who cannot hold it together, the dance floor at full tilt. That is the work I care about most.
This gallery travels all over the region, from Philadelphia ballrooms and city rooftops to the Jersey Shore and the country clubs and farms of South Jersey. Some of these couples I had photographed since their engagement sessions, and that history shows up in how relaxed they look. The more comfortable a couple is in front of the camera, the more honest the photographs feel, and 2016 proved that over and over.
A Styled Session at FDR Park
Mixed into the year was a styled session at FDR Park with our models Jen and Joe, put together with Angela Nicole Design and my full team. Sessions like that one let us experiment with light and location away from the pressure of a wedding timeline, and the ideas we test there end up making the real wedding days better. Why the Best-Of Edit Matters
Narrowing a whole year down to one gallery keeps me honest about what is working. Shooting most of these weddings with a second photographer meant we captured the major moments and the quiet reactions at the same time, which is how a story ends up feeling complete.
