Fairmount Park engagement photos of Katarina & Kyle

Fairmount Park engagement photos

Katarina & Kyle’s Fairmount Park engagement photos were captured on a beautiful spring day in May! When we were discussing locations that she loved in Philly, she said that she wanted something with the skyline in the background but with lots of greenery. I had just the spot in Fairmount Park for her.

They first met in Manayunk and now live in Philadelphia so they absolutely loved the area we chose for together. We started off deep into Fairmount Park at a couple of very wooded areas. They are such an easy-going and laid back couple that they are a pleasure to shoot. We walked around finding all these amazing nooks and crannies that I have not shot at before and it was perfect. I found an incredibly small flower garden that had bright yellow flowers bursting open from the spring warmth. The yellow flowers also really went well with her blue dress as a complementary color.

Before we drove up to the top of the baseball field areas overlooking the city we discovered a group of friends drinking wine and having a little picnic so we asked if we could join them for a few shots (photographs, haha). They were super cool and it is awesome meeting new people wherever I photograph. If that wasn’t enough they even brought their own custom 6 pack of beer that has a special meaning to them to have at the end of their session.

Katarina & Kyle have a beautiful custom GTKY album telling the story of their entire session and also a gorgeous Wall Art piece of a canvas of the with this giant textured tree with the leaves and branches framing them. I can’t wait to see them soon at their wedding at The Atrium at the Curtis Center this spring!

Photographed mostly with Contax 645 – Kodak Portra 400, and Fujifilm Acros 100

Fairmount Park is the largest urban park system in the United States, stretching over 2,000 acres through the heart of Philadelphia. It sits along the Schuylkill River and includes hidden wooded trails, open meadows, overlooks with city skyline views, and historic Boathouse Row. The park has hosted everything from the 1876 Centennial Exposition to miles of sculpture gardens. For more Philadelphia locations and venues, see the best Philadelphia wedding venues.
