Rebecca & Nick are a cool, stylish couple that currently resides in Miami. We did their Philadelphia Rittenhouse Square engagement photos right before they moved to Miami. They’re both a ton of fun. They love to laugh and don’t take things too seriously. Nick’s laid back, super cool style is great for classic black-and-white macros 100 Fuji film portraits. I don’t know what it is, but guys look awesome in black-and-white film. I always shoot at least one or two roles just with the groom and groomsmen. We created a beautiful Getting to Know You album, as well as wall art and custom Save the Date cards. I’m looking forward to working with Rebecca & Nick when they come back up to Philadelphia from Miami for their Bellevue Hotel wedding in Philadelphia.
Rittenhouse Square is one of five original squares William Penn laid out in his 1682 plan for Philadelphia, and it is still the most vibrant of them. Named after David Rittenhouse, the astronomer and first director of the US Mint, the square sits at the center of one of the city’s densest concentrations of restaurants, boutiques, and brownstones. For engagement sessions, it offers almost everything in a tight radius: shaded paths, iron fencing with good framing angles, wide open lawns for candid shots, and the surrounding streets with their architectural texture. The light on the east side in the late afternoon is some of the best in the city.

Always be mindful of construction at Rittenhouse Square. They always have random things that are being fixed or worked on. If you have your heart set on one area
Be aware of traffic as cars come barreling down these streets, especially during rush hour when the light is really good!
Check the weather for excessive wind. The wind whips through this area like it is in a tunnel so the south side can be not good if you have a flowy dress on.
